Potsdam Central School District is a Title I district, committed to ensuring all students have the opportunity to achieve academic success. Title I is a federally funded program under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) that provides financial assistance to schools with high percentages of students from low-income families to help ensure all children meet challenging state academic standards.

Annual Right to Know
As per the new Title I legislation, ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act), previously titled NCLB (No Child Left Behind), you may request information regarding the professional qualifications of your child’s classroom teacher(s) and paraprofessional staff.
You may request the following information:
- Whether the teacher has met State qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provided instruction;
- Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which State qualification or licensing criteria have been waived;
- The baccalaureate degree major of the teacher and any other graduate certification or degree; and
- Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
Complaint Procedures
Parents are able to place a complaint about their child’s school violating Title I services.

Parent Involvement Plans
